Do you think kids and music go together like P&J?  Little Kids Rock is dedicated to bringing free musical instruments and music instruction to underserved schools across the country. Your donation of $100 could buy two guitars for a classroom. Remember, kids just want to [have] strum!

It's very inspiring to read about organizations that are dealing with a specific aspect of healthcare. Medshare was an early favorite of mine because of their brilliant plan to bridge the gap between medical surplus and need. On their Critical Need Alert page they highlight a hospital each month. This month is Kirker Hospital in Niger--where only one third of the population has access to healthcare and 25% of children die before the age of five due to diseases and malnutrition. They are sending this hospital a 40-foot container filled with medical supplies and equipment.

Added Esperanca. This organization is well established--since 1970.I read about Mozambique which was very sobering, especially to find out that the average life span there is just 38 years. Esperanca works in Mozambique, Bolivia, Mexico, Nicaragua and the United States.
