Just added Child Aid in the $500 category. They are working in South America to to give children of the rural indigenous poor a fair chance in life. They have been doing this for twenty years and they partner with local organizations to be as effective as they can. Your money will go far there. Their website is colorful and informative. And that's how it started in the 1980's. But like a tree, this organization has grown steadily in many different directions. The founder is sure that knowledge and working together are the keys for growth. I liked the very simple Trees For Life Pledge. I also like that they have virtual opportunities to volunteer and also internships. This is an organization to keep an eye on and remember for a time in your life when you have both time and money, because working with them would be very interesting and rewarding.
