I have five minutes.
1. If you're a fast reader, five minutes is enough time to sign a petition. An organization called Change.org lists petitions, sponsors for the petitions, and if you register with them it is even easier to do the next time. It might take more than five minutes the first time you visit this site, but after that it won't. Click here for a list of petitions to sign.
2. Five minutes is just enough time to send an e-card to say hi to someone and also educate them about charities they might be interested in. The GAVI Campaign does live-saving work by immunizing children in the 72 poorest countries. Click here to go directly to the page to send an e-card. 7
3. I confess this one is hard to understand. Maybe you need to be young. But five minutes is enough time to do some "micro-volunteering." Extraordinaries is the place to go to find opportunities. Also, read the About page to learn some more about how this works. This may be the way of the future for some of us!
4. Got five minutes? Like peace? Go to Another Poster for Peace and print out a poster or card for free and get your message out to the world. This is a site of copyright-free art for public use.
5. Find out if you are a social citizen. Take this quiz first and then figure out what to do to do more! This is an interesting concept from a blog called Social Citizens.
6. Trees For Life is more than just trees. It started with trees but like a tree it has branched out in so many directions. Spend your five minutes learning more about this organization by watching this short video here. If you still have a few minutes left, read more on the site. There are also opportunities to volunteer virtually with them!
